Hamilton Boulton

The modern Hamilton Boulton cops a decent amount of flack. Overpriced, mineral glass and quartz. But, there’s something to be said about the way a watch can transport you throughout history and become a true icon.

Yes I agree with a lot of the criticisms but the watch itself is gorgeous on wrist. The curved glass the beautiful font for the numerals. Would I have preferred a manual, solid gold watch? absolutely!

The watch when worn regularly becomes something of a personal favourite. It is subtle, wears beautifully peeking from a shirt cuff or Barbour jacket like in the photo. Its art deco styling definitely eludes to an age of academia and deep thought.

It scratches the Cartier tank itch and comparatively I’d buy this over a must de tank any day.

Totally agree! Stunning piece & awesome pic

Looks cool but it’s “Overpriced, mineral glass and quartz” and what…. Gold plated?

Couldn’t agree with you more, I’d love the price to be adjusted accordingly. Although it does make the watch more everyday friendly, not sure I’d wearing something solid gold as often as I do this.

The quartz movement killed it for me. Honestly, if they'd put in any hand wind movement with sub seconds I'd have been in on day one. A missed opportunity. And why not give us the choice?!

·

I like it, it's got a certain je sais quoi about it

Did Indy wear that when he time traveled and met Archimedes?

I agree 👌it’s a lovely watch

I think it really takes owning it to truly understand right?

Agreed. It’s better in person.

Much agreed. Felt the same way with my khaki pilot pioneer. Many gave it flack for having mineral crystal but having watches with domed sapphire vs the Hamilton's domed mineral I finally understand the reason they selected it. There's a certain warmth/ distortion that is different and leans more towards the acrylic of old than the very clean and unblemished look of sapphire. Hamilton really knocks it out the park with their releases.

I love the pilot pioneer, the perfect retro inspired rugged daily. The perfect skiiing companion with its highly legible dial. Hamilton build watches for people who use their watch for its purpose.

That’s amazing watch, but I dare to say that it’s completely different from the Tank. So beautiful on its own, and definetely has nostalgic vibe.

I love this Hamilton model. Might as well buy it already lol

I really like the black one & this one as well. At its price I just may as well save up for a Cartier or a Dolce Vita. BUT, good chance I’ll end up with one of these. Looks great by the way, glad you are enjoying it

Pretty unique look for a new watch. Quartz reliability and modern water resistance make it practical and a completely different proposition to similar looking vintage watches.

I've got one too, was an engagement gift from my fiancee. I agree with your comments. based on the specs, is it slightly overpriced? maybe. But is it an absolute stunner? Yes. Ultimately most watches are overpriced at the end of the day, so it's about how it makes you feel...and this one definitely makes you feel more elegant! It's my most complimented watch too.

And this essentially my point to a tee
