GP Gyromatic y. unknown

As an owner of a microbrand, I always end up wearing my own watches instead everyday. It isn't necessarily a bad thing as I am proud of what we make and how I feel more at home wearing our watches, but I feel less and less of my time is spent wearing other brands and enjoying this hobby and its variety and flavors. So, once a week I decided I have to wear one of my watches in my collection (that isn't my microbrand). Today I will be wearing this Girard Perregaux Gyromatic.

The story: Bought this off of a Facebook Marketplace listing in 2013 for less than PHP 10,000. People knew back then what GP was, but the hype was not there. I bought this thinking it might scratch an itch of getting a Patek Calatrava as a dress watch (no it did not!). Nonetheless, I enjoyed it ever since, wearing it to formal events and sometimes in casual wear like today. Despite it's 18k gold case and smaller than usual 32mm size (on a gold plated milanese bracelet, it makes you feel like Scarface!), it still is one of my favorite dress watches to wear!

Beautiful piece, I think the once a week “challenge” to wear a different brand is great 👍

Beautiful watch, I have a similar story and wear pattern with my GP, as it was my first true luxury watch. I don’t own a microbrand, just a lot of other fine watches, but still enjoy my GP days.
