Alien Ripley Double x Mcfly

It finally arrived. No help from DHL. My Alien Ripley wristwatch with double Marty Mcfly Casio CA-53Ws from Kokopelli’s Watch.

I’ve been following Kokopelli0204jp on instagram for a while now. He’s posted double watch Alien variations for quite a while (with a wide variety of other vintage goodies), and I’ve been waiting patiently for the perfect opportunity to snatch one up. It’s PTO cash-out time at the County, so I dumped 40hrs. My amazing wife noticed it coming our way in my paycheck and suggested I used some of it to treat myself. I considered using much of it on something practical from my wishlist, but I landed on the “fun” option. Being an Ailen fan, I had no choice. A fun interpretation of the watch(es) worn by Ripley in the original Alien movie, replacing the Casio F-100s with the CA-53s. Hilarious and nerdy.

Kokopelli’s service was perfection. He even packaged and taped things the way I would. The two watches set to my local time, one 12hr one 24hr. It really made me laugh. I’ll buy from him again when I can.

The watch is a hilarious 40mm x 70mm. I have a 7.25 inch wrist. You gotta have a bit of wrist to wear this snugly. I’m on the second to last (or is it first?) strap hole to keep it snug. I could easily wear it a bit more loose.

P.S.

The DHL bit…

DHL delayed the delivery by a day. Bummed me out, as I took time off expecting it would be on-time, and didn’t want to miss the delivery. The next day I saw it was ACTUALLY out for delivery, so I took off a few hours early. I’m on the couch waiting, and I get a delivery notification, but IT AIN’T HERE. Ugh. I contacted the DHL bot immediately and was told to wait for a response. An hour later I got a call stating they’d give the driver 24hr to respond and find the mis-delivery. Yeah. No chance I’d see the package. DHL was pretty much “tough luck”.  I looked at the delivery confirmation one more time in the app, and this time the image of the delivery location was uploaded. I could see the first three numbers on the house and it looked like it might be a few blocks away, or it was miles away on the north-side of the city. I went out for a stroll to see if I could catch it. My fantastic wife caught up with me and helped me search. It wasn’t where I thought, but we did find it three blocks down and one over! Nowhere near the address clearly written on the package. Ugh. Thanks for nothing DHL.

But, hey, all is well… and I have TWO calculator watches strapped to my wrist!!!

Well, I know what I’m posting in WRUW tomorrow. 😁
