Fauxtina lume, aged looking and creamy. Giving that vintage flare. Some love it and many hate it. But what I wonder is: "how will this "aged" lume look as these watches when they one day become truly vintage?".
Maybe it won't be so different? Like bright things tend to become darker in color with age, while darker stuff tend to fade? I have no clue but it's interesting to me.

I think fauxtina should stay approximately the same color. Modern lume with photoluminescent phosphor and binders should not age the way radium and tritium-based paints of the past aged.

It's gonna be interesting to see.

Exactly. The radium mixed with the luminescent material burned the lume, the dial, the hands, crystal, etc. Some untouched old watches are just burnt up messes. Without the radioactive element, modern lume wonโt age anywhere near as badly.
There's always light, at least during the day time. And oh yeah stay out of deep waters, you're good to go! ๐ Jokes aside, lume is like life, it will fade away! ๐

I was thinking more esthetically ๐ค I realize that functionally it will just get worse ๐

Yes clearly I see where the question is coming from, now but for the aesthetics. I cannot confirm this, but I personnaly don't think anyone cares about the lume if he or she finds an older submariner, for sale! At this moment nobody cares about lume, you cannot find more aesthetics without lume ๐
