Late '60 Enicar Sherpa Star Diver

New to me. I think a crazy and cool deep cut from the Enicar catalog (back in the day it was one of the, if not the, most expensive pieces Enicar sold). Speaking of deep, I think you can cook a full blown Chicago style pizza in the pie pan shaped dial. Unlike most of their other dive watches which were super-compressors, this is a standard screw-in crown and case back. Pretty solid condition except the hand lume has blackened and the lume pip is MIA (may actually get those issues resolved). I normally like to leave vintage pieces alone, but the legibility is suffering with the hands.

This thing looks great! What a special watch!

Very nice! I really like how the date is at 12:00 and the day is at 6:00. Really unique and good looking piece.

Very nice! Most Enicar watches are behond my price range lol. If you get the hands relumed this will probably negatively effect the value of the watch unfortunately

Where did you find this if you don't mind me asking?

It had been listed on watchuseek awhile back. I reached out the guy (had bot an Enicar Seapearl from him in the past). I think dealer listings for this watch tend to be in 3-4k range.

This one looked great and I was tempted at the time. But has some discomfort with the "Sherpa" dial text not being in the standard place. This said Bulang is pretty reputable and I suspect that the watch is totally legit (things were not as standardized back then as now).

Also follow / check with "Horology Biology" in the Netherlands. He specializes in Enicar repair and does also get stuff for sale.
