Seiko SNK809 Mod

⌚️Here is my first Seiko mod. Decided to mod my old SNK809 to replace hands that I never liked that much and give it as a present to my dad this Christmas. Although I wish that cheap case back opener tool wouldnt scratch it, but overall I am happy with my first attempt to mod a Seiko watch.

Nice!!

Definitely looks good on the black dial.

Yeah, sure, but this was supposed to be a “field”/“type B” dial style watch. So the hands made sense. As do the bead blasted case. Why put cathedral hands? Why not use fence post hands?

Great work. I hope it bring you joy knowing you made it personal.

Thank you!

Yeah! Thought of swapping the dial, but then decided it looks nice on black as well

Well, something make sense as long as you like it. I didnt find original hands that good looking despite it makes sense in that design. Over time I also couldnt get used to them. And I chose these hands because I like Alpinist model which I think also field watch, I wanted to swap the dial also, but ultimately decided to keep original one
