All about a Marlin....
I do not swim or dive...but I liked the budget diver from Casio mainly because of the marlin on it....then the chatter came up among watch youtubers that Casio discontinued using the logo....I found a fair priced MDV106G on amazonus ,took the plunge and got it...no regrets....(see this interesting video from

I heard that rumor too, they didn't want to pay royalties or something...I've yet to see one without the marlin thought. They're a good value at retail price.
I swim and dive (although only recreationally), and wouldn’t wear either of my dive watches when diving so don’t let that worry you. I think the watch looks great and I like the marlin though I don’t think not having the marlin on the back would put me of buying it.

I have seen the marlin logo on old digital models of Casio also but the issue might be the reintroduction of Timex Marlin Vintage (Casio never mentions Marlin in their leaflets as the brand name is owned by Timex)..https://www.timex.com/browse/collections/marlin/
