When I talk to my Serbian friend, he likes to casually remind me every now and then that they shot down a US stealth fighter. I mean, it was pure luck, but ask a Serbian and you'll get a different story...
Any country with an industrial base large enough to support watch manufacturing probably did something bad to someone at sometime. IBM supplied machines to Nazi Germany, specifically to tablulate those heading to death camps. Henry Ford was all in on Hitler and Nazis, prior to the US entering the war. US companies and their subsidiaries sell weapons and materiel to all sides - whoever can pay - in any give war or conflict. The Swiss have their hands dirty, laundering money for Nazis, drug kingpins, Russian oligarchs, US Televangelists, and other unsavory characters. China... got their fingers in pretty much any watch less than, say, $1k?

Stamped clasp as a nod to the past is a weak excuse. But personally, I prefer stamped clasps, and routinely swap them out for stock bracelet machined clasps. Usually they are thinner and lighter. with perfectly acceptable performance. So if they are marketing this on purpose, that's stupid; but I'd not mind it if the rest of it all is fine.
OTOH, the stock BOR has male endlinks, for some reason, so I'd probably pass on a bracelet entirely, or risk trying Forstner BonKlip.
