Impulse purchase

Ok, we’ve all done it, some more often than others. I’m holding my hand up in acknowledgment of my own guilt.

The impulse purchase. Hodinkee previews the new Timex collaboration and I jump straight on the internet and buy one.

I then read up on the watch in a little more detail afterwards, excited to find out more about my new GMT, only to discover this isn’t a GMT model! 🙈

I’ve moved past this now though, as it still has a straw for a second hand, and in my book that’s awesome.

So, cards on the table, what’s the daftest impulse watch purchase you’ve made?

Tissot PRX I love the retro looks and fell for the hype, now it sits in a watch box, wearing its battery down.

I don't get the PRX love. It looks OK and the colour choice is there, but it's not for me.

I do like the PRX myself and have bought into the whole IB hype. I have the automatic and it gets as much wrist time as my other watches. I dare say I’ll like this Timex when it arrives, but I do need to stop rushing into purchases. I’ve been at this the best part of twenty years and I’m still too impulsive.

It’s not that I don’t like the PRX I just don’t need it and compared to other watches I have it’s just not often in my thoughts, it’s a great watch for a work trip to London or somewhere equally dodgy for nice watches.

I bought two PRX automatic as I fell victim to the hype. Nice watches but ultimately sold them both.
