The Sealander C63 GMT is my travel watch. It feels solid enough for any situation and has more than enough water resistance for pool & sea.
Swap it to a black leather strap and it looks the part for dinner too.
It's versatile, but I don't wear it much at home.
Even in cold temperatures, your watch will be kept at 37C/100F as it's close to your body and you are will be wearing a coat.
I've never had import taxes on straps - unlike watches that always do.
I've had quite a few custom made from Vietnam. Etsy is a good source. Never had issues.
Just received an order from CNS. All good as well.
I also have a bunch from aliexpress. All terrible. They are only good to check if a style/color matches before ordering something wearable.
Again, never had surprise bills.
What replacement strap are you using?
My son wears his watch all the time and it shows premature signs of wear. The velcro is giving out. I found some 17mm natos on aliexpress but I'm not expecting much out of them.
Everyone is different in growing the collection. I find I have fewer gaps to fill, so I am more deliberate.
If you want to stick to a single watch, it limits choices to all-around options. I prefer to have multiple less expensive watches that fit the situation it is intended for.
