Slow Your Roll… My Roll has been Slowed

Friends. I’m at an impasse.

For context, many years ago I started collecting billiards related items. My collection started out in a frenzy, grabbing everything I liked. Eventually, I sold the pieces that didn’t fit and only added things that really spoke to me. Then, abruptly, I stopped adding, as I was satisfied with what I had.

I share that to say this… I think that for now I’ve checked all of the boxes in my watch collection. Will I add a few more fun, inexpensive pieces? Sure. But the meat and potatoes have been served. (Except for the Farer Burbidge, damnit).

Have any of you experienced this? What inspired your next watch? Am I losing my mojo? Thanks in advance for your contributions.

Yeah it’s cyclical, I do believe most of us get into a funk after a while and sometimes taking a break from the hobby is healthy and it will draw you back in for some weird reason and it will spark some interest again… it’s part of the crazy collecting disease we all share… 🍻

Agree. There are still watches I want to get, but I’ve found the desire to actually purchase them right now has fallen off. I’m taking this as a good thing. I think the reason I seldom regret a purchase is that I tend to take my time with them. Usually, by the time I buy I’ve spent enough time thinking about it to be sure I won’t regret the purchase.

Agreed… in the back of my mind I keep thinking, be intentional in what you buy.

I’ve never seen so many tiny watches in one place before…
