Sentimental Pieces

The only reason why I buy/receive watches:

Bulova - Engagement Watch

Seiko - First watch, took over when my dad passed away

Citizen - Second Pregnancy

Soon the Seiko will be replaced with another Seiko as it will be my wedding watch and I will be handing down my Dad's watch to my brother.

Let us see your sentimental pieces as well.

Second watch given to me by my wife, for Valentine's day 2023, a Sturmanskie:

Third watch from my wife, Christmas 2023, an Orion Hellcat:

Only the last one did I hint to her what I wanted. The first two were on her own. All are precious.

My Seiko flightmaster is probably the stand-out piece in terms of sentimental value. The watch that got me into watches, back when I was 14.

SM300 bought with inheritance from my Mum. Chose this as her Dad, who died when she was little, was one of the first wave to land on D Day with the Royal Marine Commandos & had a long since lost Omega.

Second one has a more amusing story - I bought it for my Dad a few years ago, he wore it for 6 months then decided it was too expensive so wanted to sell it... Needless to say I bought it back from him 🤣 But, bless him, he used the money to go towards a car for my Mrs.

So both keepers, & both very precious to me .

This Movado Museum was a gift from my parents when I graduated from law school in 1987.

When I got married in 1994, I gave each of my groomsmen a Swiss Army Captains watch (and also bought one for myself).

This Tag Heuer Professional 6000 Series was a wedding anniversary gift from the missus in 1998.

This is the Mystery Dial watch which was a collab between JLC and VC. It belonged to my wife’s grandfather and was gifted to me by my in-laws on my 50th birthday.

My uncle's watch

I took it when he passed away. The watch that makes me into watches in the first place.

These are all sentimental pieces. The blue Fossil is the first watch I ever bought. The rest are either from my wedding or standing up in other weddings. I don’t wear them much but I’ll always keep them.

This one was a gift from my parents in 1986 or 87.

This one I bought for myself in 1991. A few months later I was in the Middle East for Desert Storm. It stayed on my wrist through that and several other conflict zones over the years as my daily for almost 20 years. Was on my wrist for my wedding too.
