Experienced Face

I got this watch at a very fair price, no doubt because of the age reflected by the dial condition. I certainly do not quibble with its operation- I set it 12h prior- but wonder about dial restoration. I kind of like the vibes the wear provides, but I’m curious what others feel about vintage restoration.

Dials are notoriously hard to work on and most experienced watchmakers won't touch them due to the likelihood of making it worse. Your options would be to buy another of the same watch (perhaps non-running so you could save money) to swap in a more pristine dial, or accept the "patina" as it is. I would probably do the latter. It's a rustic vintage Seiko, own it!

I tend to agree!

Personally, I would just polish / change the crystal, IMO the dial has charm🤔 great case shape👍

New crystal would be my vote, way less money. I agree with leave the dial patina as is.
