Dial without date but movement with date

I found a perfect dial for my Seiko mod. But that dial doesn’t have a cutted out date. But for some parts the only movement that fits is the NH35. Can I just use the NH35 (with date) with a dial without date or does someone know a NH35 movement without date?

Yup, date will just be covered.

Some Chinese brands I guarantee have a date wheel under their dial.

This is done by so many microbrands that it has the moniker "ghost date"

If you already have the NH 35 in hand, then use it, you'll just have a ghost date position on the crown. If not, check out the NH 38, same movement as the 35, but no date complication.

Do you think the NH38 will fit properly in cases which are special for NH35 and dials that are special for NH35 or doesn’t it make a difference?

That I'm not sure about. I believe they are the same size, but not sure about the small details. This might help. https://calibercorner.com/seiko-nh-caliber-differences/

Missing from that list is the NH34, which is the GMT version.

I have recently replaced an nh35 movement watch with an nh38 movement with no issues 👍

·

Yeah you can use that movement or the 38/39 they have open heart faces👍🏻

All the NH 34-39 have the same overall measurements so they’re interchangeable they just have slightly differing complications eg date, dsy date, gmt, open heart etc.

My two recent builds have NH38/39 in them

The dimensions are identical. NH34/35/36/38 are all interchangeable.
