Tudor BB58

Here's the thing, while Tudor aimed to pay tribute to vintage dive watches through their design language... i feel they really failed, the watch was stuck in this limbo of "I want to be vintage but I'm built out with modern finishes" the snowflake while a positive reflection into the past was actually Tudors attempt to step into a modern era ... then you're given this curvilinear bracelet to what... completely contrast them?

Years ago I begged Uncle Seiko to make a flat link bracelet for my Tudor BB58. I even told them I would help fund the R&D to get the task done. I'm happy to announce that though they never read my DM on Instagram, a separate company, JB Forstner Bands created exactly what I needed to keep this watch in my collection. The bracelet is the perfect compliment to the Tudors vibe... bye bye to the cheesy fo-vintage fake rivets BS.... enter the world of design fluidity.

I know I know, so many people like the bracelet... it just never felt right, more like they started in a good direction and then decided to completely ignore the rest of the watch when creating it...

I'm done ranting, ill just make a TikTok on my thoughts.

Cheers

I dislike the BB58 bracelet. I even bought the Uncle Seiko half link to try to get it right. I may give this Uncle Seiko bracelet a try.

Hey boss, I reached out to Uncle Seiko, however, it was JB Forstner who ended up making the bracelet. Sorry for the confusion, I adjusted my original comment. I highly recommend this bracelet: https://forstnerbands.com/collections/flat-link-for-tudor-black-bay-58/products/brushed-flat-link-bracelet-for-black-bay-58

I really can recommend the bracelet from Uncle Strap. I have the Jubilee and enjoy wearing it every day.

I hear the same feeling. I went to the AD thinking about all the hype. And your know what? I did love it. The watch and the fit. Them I saw the faux rivets. Killed it for me.

So I got a San Martin. Guess what? I preferred it's bezel action. The sounds was better. So I kept that instead.

I quite like the BB58 bracelet and clasp. But I know Forstner makes great products. I have the jubilee and oyster for the BB58, plus the flat link for Speedy!

I am very happy with my BB58. I like the bracelet as much as my Rolex explorer bracelet. I don't feel a difference in quality when switching from explorer to BB58

It is very well constructed, feels quality and faux rivet don't mind me, I can barely see them and this post actually reminded me that it has those faux rivets.

The bracelet was one of the reasons I sold my BB58. The faux rivets and the lack of micro adjustments were a big letdown. I never got a good fit with the bracelet, it was always too tight or loose, the addition of half links would have at least helped get a better fit. I mostly wore it on natos and a leather strap.

I also have the flat link on my Speedy. Maybe I’m just a flat link slut 😂

I recently purchased a San Martin GMT for my father for his birthday. He’s a pretty rugged and rough guy and wanted a pretty watch that would double as a tool watch. Some thing that he could really beat up, but still look at him.

Yeah, I was never able to get a good fit as well. The rivets is mostly just a talking point for me. I think that they’re cheesy & ugly but it’s not a full reason to sell the watch… however me not being able to get a good fit was super obnoxious. After putting the flat link on my tutor, it really brought it back to life for me.

My buddy got a jubilee on his Blackbay heritage, and it looks really beautiful. I like the look of the photo you sent.

I’m glad it works for you, I have a very keen eye for detail, and when I see some thing I don’t like, I hyper fixate on it.

I got quite a good fit with the stock bracelet luckily, but after putting my bb58 on a NATO, it makes the watch more rugged and 'tooly' and even more comfortable. Love it 🌟

The faux rivets put me off the BB when I went trying them on. I bought a Pelagos instead. The bracelet was amazing and I like titanium so it was a winner. I would certainly by a BB on a strap though!
