I curate to maintain a tailored collection. I don’t want a bunch of watches sitting unused. 8-10 watches in rotation, with design I love and functionality that I need.
The first two, but particularly dial colour. I do like the idea of having a complimentary set of dial colours. I mainly wear 4 colours, so I’d like to have 3-5 watches that compliment that palette. I think I just need to aim at something to make it all seem meaningful tbh
I like watches. I don't need no diversification, classification, organization, variegation or any other of those
-ations. Just give me a 20 slot box and I'll fill it with a ubiquitous group of watches that suit me for no other reason but they do.
Randomnification rules!
Depends on your collecting style. I just want to keep my watches at a max of 6 watches since I work a lot in Home Office and would not have otherwise enough time to rotate through them I feel like if I own a black diver it makes no sense for me/ wasting money to get another black diver for example. But this is just my style and how I approach this. Therefore I was wondering how other people's approach is and your comment is basically also your own approach.

I have a similar approach and as I have the chance to get a new watch, I check to have something a little different in functionality and style as well
Can we get a "all of the above" option? Generally, I don't get beholden to a specific watch. I have categories of what I like and wherever a good deal shows up, that's where I turn my head.
Well, I started with buying what I love and it then turned to functional and aesthetic diversity. My concept are now these categories, most of them already filled:
Function: everyday (versatile), diver, dress, analogue chronograph, tough, other
Looks: Diversity in colours, dial structure, dial layouts,
Diversity in movements and materials is just a byproduct.
I would like to have variety. Different colors, styles, types, complications, everything. What’s the point in having a bunch of watches that have so many similarities with one another, right?(I don’t mean to offend anyone who collects watches this way no judgement 👍🏻)
One box with big digital watches (G-Shock, Casio AE-1200 etc.), one box with analog watches (Casio Duro, MRW-200 etc.) and one box with small digital watches (Casio F-91W, CA-500 etc.)

Other. I buy what I love. I don’t care about ‘filling’ any list of types or styles.
All the above off your choice list. 😁

All of the above
If I like or not
I have no plan, yet the collection keeps diversifying.

Little of column A and a little of column B 😉
