Well folks, 2023 is coming to a close in a few weeks, and I know most of our collections have gone through plenty changes this year. For me, it's grown by 3 watches, my Hamilton Khaki Pioneer and Seiko Dolce are my two standouts so far. Two humble and relatively affordable watches that punch above their weight.
My collection is at a great place right now and I'm thinking I'll forgo smaller purchases to save up next year for my grail watch, the Longines spirit 37mm.
Lets see how that goes, what were your favorite aquisitions this year?

Is that a teal? Beautiful watch?
I don't know why salmon dials are so alluring but that's a stunner!
Vostok GRU Russian Intelligence service watch, mechanical movement circa 1983 with a bat on the face? Reissues on Amazon but this is authentic.

It’s a sunburst navy blue. It shines quite a bit. Thanks I’m really impressed with the finish.
The pilot pioneer is a perfect little watch
My Vertex M100A is very very special, it’s the best watch I’ve ever purchased and will never leave my collection, unfortunately my Pilot Pioneer, Sinn 556a likely will as the Vertex is taking all the wrist time.

Its great that these old brands are being revived with the likes of Nivada Grenchen, Vertex and Vulcain among others
Vaer C3 Solar Korean Field Watch
Vaer DS4 Meridian Solar Dive watch
Timex Marlin hand-wound reissue
I stop on my wants and went for my grail

Congrats!
Only 2 acquisitions for me this year and super chuffed with them both. Hope everyone is equally pleased with their results this year.
Only 2 added in 2023, but biggies. My 413 came at Christmas time last year 🫶
And Blue Glacier came in the summer in Tokyo..
I think the Sakura wins, even if more generic, because it’s my never sell perma love watch.
I also paid for a few watches in 2023 that I won’t get till next year, so I think they don’t count yet! 😉
My long time grail (Speedy Pro) along side the watch I never knew I wanted (BB41)
And I just heard Breitling is bringing back Universal Geneve.

Add Universal Geneve to that list. Breitling aquired them. Can't wait to see wear this leads.

Great choices!! 👍
BTW, What's the big steel disc in the Speedy box? Looks like a very cool coaster?

Thanks. It's a collectible medallion
Definitely the Tudor BB36 for me

That Moser is sharp
As I've had my Grail a few years, it's been some excellent straps this year 😃
Artem Sailcloth is very impressive and I'll definitely be getting a few more.
Forstner JB Komfit - as worn by real astronauts , only discovered these recently, equally as impressed.
Plus numerous NATO's, favourite being CWC mil-spec elastic & Zuludiver Geckota mil-spec sewn in buckle jobbies. Better than my genuine Omega NATO TBH...
Man, I love that Pilot Pioneer. Been thinking about moving from khaki field to that one... I just got my favorite watch of the year:

On the topic of straps, I got this strap from steveo straps made from a piece of British MOD para kit, it's my favorite setup on my khaki

Cool, been looking at those myself 👍🏻👍🏻
So far it's my original Nivada Grenchen Antarctic Spider that I bought at a pawn shop for a steal. There are still 17 days left of the month, so that might change seeing as I'm going down to prime vintage watch territory (for South Africa) in the Southern Cape. I'm hoping to find some old tool watches or maybe even some military watches hiding away.

Congrats on an epic purchase. That watch is equal parts 60s funky and elegant
