Attention-seeker

Of all the great watches I own, it's the cheap chinese Rolex homage that gets the most attention. Here are some of my favorite comments (mostly from my co-workers):

"Wow, you're wearing a Roly?!?"

(I had to explain to him that it's not a "Roly" but rather a cheap chinese knock-off. He was so impressed that he got himself a golden Bersigar Sub afterwards.)

"Cool watch, I love the reflections of the light!"

(She couldn't care less about watches, so hearing her saying that was quite the compliment!)

"Is that a real Rolex???!!"

(...he said while he stood there in the middle of the office, his eyes wide open. Yet again, I had to explain what this thing actually was.)

"Aren't these things quite expensive??"

(She asked me this at our last christmas staff party, and we spent the rest of the evening talking about watches.)

My question for you: What is the watch that gets the most attention from "regular people" (watch nerds excluded)?

It’s pretty rare that I get anyone, regular Joes or watch nerds, commenting on one of my watches. But my all red CasiOak has drawn the most “oh, cool watch” type of comments from folks. Maybe your peacocking theory has some merit, regardless of watch value. I could care less tho…I just buy and wear what I like lol.

Yeah I bet that looks amazing in person.

I don't really meet people often but when I do they love my g shock color.

Not as fancy as yours but I like the casual look.

Haha, don't get me wrong - I also couldn't care less. 😉

I just find it amazing that it's my cheapest and most basic Sub clone that seems to draw the most attention. Also, apart from the "peacocking" merit, a watch can be a great conversation starter.
