SKMEI Model 1851
Scrolling through SKMEI offerings on AliExpress, I came across this watch. Clearly a Casio copy (homage?), but I really like the color. Currently selling for $18 and change on AliExpress, but I have seen it on E-Bay for less.

@MWC2020 did a video on the SKMEI full steel version and from what I can remember it was so bad he whacked it with a golf club to put it out of it's misery.
For $20 it might be interesting to buy, if it was me I'd use that money for lunch

I saw the video, and I don't believe he found the watch to be "bad." First of all, he was comparing a $20 Skmei watch against a $450 Casio, not exactly a fair comparison. The Casio is a better watch. His decision to hit the Skmei with a golf club was not to put it out of its misery, but to see how tough it was. A bit ridiculous, and in keeping with his mad watch guy schtick. Skmei makes cheap watches, but that does not mean they are rubbish. Casio is another manufacturer who built its reputation on cheap watches. In any case, here is another review of the Skmei watch which is a bit more serious. The reviewer agrees with another reviewer who characterized the watch as being 80% of the full metal Casio for 10% of the price (less actually).

Sure, it is a copy of a Casio, but it is not "fake." It is clearly labeled as a Skmei, so a buyer knows it isn't a fake Casio. Of course, the Casios are made in China too. In any case, I like the color of this watch, and it is not a colorway that Casio offers. Because I was interested in the watch, I wanted to find out a bit more about its manufacturer. It´s not conterfeit, but for me it´s a fake, because they took 100% of the design. You may not fool people on WC but there are many people fooled by companies like skmei. For example older people or just people that don´t know anything about watches, but looking for a present.
Companies like skmei are garbage. They do an easy cashgrab nothing else. They are offering nothing to our hobby.
