Montblanc experience

Update to the below. I heard from my AD yesterday that the Montblanc Repair centre has shipped my Geosphere. I should have it back next Tuesday, one day short of six months, since it went off for warranty repair, I am beyond excited to get it back on the wrist.

Hello all,

First post here, I am a slow collector of watches that I love, over sensible investments or brands of increasing value.

So for my 40th in March, I bought a Montblanc 1858 Geospehere zero oxygen, in April (April 11th) I sent it, through the AD for service as the Rotor made a hell of a racket, so much so that sat in meetings, people asked what the noise is. Not dropped or worn much at this point.

It’s now mid June and the only update is that it’s in Switzerland!!

Anyone had experience of Montblanc? Starting to think I will never see my watch again.

I don't have any experience whatsoever with montblanc but it's common that services usually takes few months

That noise of the rotor could be I guess just a faulty bearing in the rotor

Thanks for the comment, I have a few others from Bell and Ross, Tudor and Ball, but never heard such a noisy watch. Don’t mind waiting, but some sort of feedback from the brand or AD would be appreciated.

Have not had my watch serviced but have had Montblanc pens serviced and that took over a month. I did order a rubber strap and deployment clasp from them and that took over six months to get.

So as an update , I still don’t have my watch back

Great choice! I'm contemplating with this geosphere choice of mine right now while searching for past posts.

A little surprised by your story but perhaps it is an one-off experience.

I am having a look at the same zero oxygen watch but I prefer the more vintage looking Gobi desert one.

I can say that there are not many people into montblanc watches. Hope this will change as I see they are getting better and better by day.

The back is equally stunning.
