My fathers 30 year old piece.

So as I grew a fascination towards watches, my father searched a bit, and found this (according to him) over 30 year old beauty. As you can see, time wasnt the friendliest with it, so I decided to take it to service tomorrow. Its a mechanical/automatic watch, still works well, but 30 years is 30 years, probably needs a lot of care. I didnt found much about a brand, its visible on the picture ( I hope), he got it in Romania. If you have any clue whats up with it, feel free to share with me, its going to be a nice addition to my starting collection. I found it to be similar to a seiko automatic watch, not sure about the type, an snk series if i remember correctly.

It should clean up nicely enough, and besides the sentimentality is of more value anyway.

Are all the days on the day wheel in red like that? And are there any markings on the case back?

I dont know, sadly the crown needs to be fixed too, day doesnt pass past diestag. I hope it can be fixed within a reasonable fee. The back says "ms hydro polyp", and regular stuff like stainless steel and kondensing waterproof

Today I wore a watch my grandfather gave me. It’s from the late 1970‘s and he daily wore it for over 30 years. It has never been serviced. Heirloom/inherited watches are the coolest IMO

I'm looking for assistance on them also, so if you guys know anything, please help a fellow Cruncher out! 😎

What a collection! The Ingersoll Mickey got my attention the most, but every piece is a beauty!

Nice! That will clean up well. I like how the 150 WR is labeled 15 and then ATM in a box. That‘s cool.

You're off to a great start! My dad's Longines (his engagement gift from my mom) started my collection. I have an emotional connection to a few of my watches, but a positive family connection is something extra.
