My Dad basically raised me on Queen. They were always playing in the house or in the car. He even followed them on tour. When the first Brian May Seiko 5 was announced me and my Dad got one each. We loved the connection between Seiko and Brian. Additionally, I loved the deep red of the dial and the black meander in tribute to his guitar.
I recently saw the second version of the Brian May, and have to say I am not a fan of the case colour, and also saw that this was now "limited" to 12,000 pieces. I was quite shocked with the amount available, the first model producing 9,000 and, I thought that was generous but 12,000!
So I have to ask, what quantity do you consider limited? and if you have the first BM Seiko 5 will you be getting the new one?

Limited means it's a limited run, not that it's small numbers.
Also, consider the likely hundreds of thousands of 5KX watches that will be/have been produced, 12k isn't that many in the grand scheme of things.
I think if you're buying outside of the higher end of the luxury market, you should expect that a "limited" edition will not be considerably more valuable than a standard edition.

The limited run makes more sense. I suppose just when you see limited, I compare it to the worn & wound seiko 5 and there was only 1,000 of them. Now I'm sure you could argue a smaller number of them due to the niche market that operates in compared to the world wide fame that Queen and Brian May have.
I agree that this watch won't be worth more. I've seen on eBay people trying to sell this for over £1,000 double the RRP. Especially as you say when you compare it to luxury limited pieces.
