Timex Camper Mechanical Reborn?

My first mechanical watch was the Timex Camper Mechanical back in the 80s and 90s. I bought my first one at Woolworth's. Remember those? I loved that watch. I bought more than one, because I either beat the hell out of them or wound them too tight. I paid $25 back in the day. There is a modern day quartz but not the same. You can still find them but they go for close to $100.

Timex and Todd Snyder reimagined it. Or so they say. More of a dress watch, but I like it. What do you think?

I think it is not a bad looking watch, but for that price, you could get a 38mm Expedition North Mechanical, which is closer to your Camper Mechanical. I wish Timex would reissue the 36mm MK1 Mechanical; that is actually the closest modern analog.

Agreed. I like Todd Snyder collaborations but they tend to be more expensive than they need to be. I need to research who Todd Snyder actually is and why he commands a higher price for a Timex watch.

I like the Todd Snyder watch but that is a dress watch and nothing like a field watch to me!

I’ve got one of those timex campers that my dad gave me. It doesn’t work but I don’t want to get rid of it haha

That Vietnam Camper was also the first watch I got from my first salary. Twas so reliable for my type of work back in the early 90s. Had same sentiment about getting one again now. Got the Expedition Scout 36 instead.
