I have a similar watch which I use as a beater for DIY and gardening. It's pretty hard wearing, not a Swatch style plastic watch (with respect to Swatch). Budget on a new strap though, that looks like mine and it's super uncomfortable.

It should wear just fine, the thing that kills plastic cases is generally impact, and that also tends to kill movements/crystals.

Sadly $50 is the new $28 or whatever, so basically yes. Who regrets buying a Timex Expedition? These are really a bargain, I mean look at Swatch. Unless one is utterly destitute, the price will be thought too small in the not-so-distant future.
Timex made a disposable plastic field watch for the vietnam war if I'm not mistaken. So if you're a fan of that stuff, I guess this watch has that cool factor. But yeah 10-15 bucks will be a fitting price for it.

Fair enough! Casio duro is a great choice for a dive watch. Really nice with a nato strap but if they’re looking for a budget field watch that timex is a good choice.
I personally would go for the the timex expedition Scout with the leather strap. It’s just a better look in my opinion, at the same price point for features.
