I always look forward to cooking things like pasta or pizza, because I’ll get to use a chronograph or dive bezel for an actual purpose. But last night, after being sure to wear my new favorite diver, I ran into a problem.
I was ready to drop the pasta in the water, already anticipating the smooth, satisfying ratcheting sound as the dive bezel aligns perfectly with the minute hand. But in a moment of confusion, I realized the bezel pip was already lined up with the minute hand. It was exactly 6:00. I had never been so disappointed by a time of day (at least one that didn’t involve an early morning alarm buzzer or dentist appointment). But I would not be denied!
I sheepishly and uselessly turned the bezel all the way around to arrive back where it started, and dropped in the pasta.

At first I didn't think a dive rotating bezel was going to be helpful for me. Now I can't appreciate it enough! Whenever I want to make sure I don't spend over 2hours somewhere, I would set the bezel and constantly check back to make sure I keep track of time. I don't know how many times I go to the grocery store, or clothes shopping and don't keep track of time and look back and think of how much time I really spent somewhere. You could also set it when you want to read a book, if you are into reading books that is.
If only you’d worn the Spaghetti Scametti! 😉
Maybe I'm using mine wrong, but if I need to time 5 min & the minute hand is at say 20, I set the pip to 25.
This way I can visually see the minute hand approach the pip.

There's no wrong way to use a dive bezel. I usually prefer to set the pip on the minute hand and count up the minutes on the bezel. But the other way works too!
Yeah, I wouldn't tell this story to anyone else but this community.

Why have I never tho if it if this way? I set it to the time I start and then have to keep counting minutes in my head 😅😩
We are all a little odd, if you don't mind me saying 😉
I actually prefer to wear one of my chronographs in the kitchen or when manning the grill, but I will use any watch I am wearing. I can pretty much make any of my watches work if I need to.
My favorite use for my dive bezel is for timing the laundry machine. Just set the pip and come back in an hour.
