GMT Master II Freshly Serviced from RSC

Turned it in for service on 4 Dec 23, got it back today. It’s a 2008 (M Serial) and has never been serviced before. Had a complete overhaul, new crystal and crown tube, NO polish. Cost $1047.00.

That’s a quick turnaround !

Well worth the price of service

Was it acting up on you or did you just feel it was time

I can never understand the costs of servicing. The watches you can buy for $1047.00 are excellent. Not sure of the retail of the watch in 2008 but imagine that's a big % of what it cost.

The hour hand no longer tracked with the GMT hand. Watchmaker said it’s a common problem with older 3186 movements, he replaced the broken part with an upgraded version.

I know! RSC told me since I didn’t get it polished, I saved 3-4 weeks of time.

You are correct, most people never factor in the cost of service. I think this model was around $8K when new. Service is about 13% of the retail price, that’s crazy high.

Thank you! It is truly one of the most versatile models Rolex has ever made, you will not regret the decision.
