what's the issue with my vostok?

-wind and set it

-as the minute hand is between 6-10 the second hand often stops sweeping past it...tap or a shake gets it going

-i thought ok poor assembly and the hands are off and fouling on each other

-not always the case though...i have a feeling it's something to do with the crown/movement and some drag somewhere because sometimes all is well

-i'm well aware of the wobble loose crown...my other vostock works perfect and also has a more positive crown action

anyone else had similar issues?

double wristing it now as it's working and thought maybe a work out would help...so to speak

My guess was going to be that the hands were getting hung up on each other, but you covered that. Unless it’s the hands but it’s positional. Like maybe they hit each other, but only when the watch is in a certain position? Other than that, I’ve got nothing.

i did threaten it however

I remember a situation where a small screw was losen inside watch/movement and only in some positions it rubish on some wheels. Anyway, my suggestion is to do a maintenance by yourself or take to a watchmaker. 😉

now that makes more sense to me with what i'm experiencing...just something off internally

not ready to open a mech watch yet

perhaps after i do a diy watch first

being just a 100$ vostok may as well get another one over a pro

still running fine and keeping good time

sure to screw up when i reset it in the morning..but we'll see

Agreed, if the hands are having trouble sweeping by each other, my money would be on an incorrect vertical alignment minute and seconds hand, which would be relatively easy to fix.

Get it serviced because the hands have gears below them that can hang up.

I never set the time.....since it was running I let go for a while and get a good wind

no idea on the pr

·

Ah, gotcha. I hope it is running smoothly for you today.

took it off for 24...it was g shock time yard work etc

was still running...gave it a wind and set the time

it's working and keeping good time

the one thing i didn't do was set the date

which is a pita as i'm sure anyone reading this knows

back and forth....

will try to set the date before i switch to see what happens

really dont think it's the hands or even the movement....crown movement interface
