From a design perspective, I much prefer the Tank, but I'm having a difficult time determining which Tank variant to get. I really like the guilloche pattern on the XL, but it seems just a tad too large for my 17cm wrist. The dials on the more appropriately sized variants seem a bit boring to me.
I had never been interested in the Longines until I saw that particular model in person at a watch meetup. It offers one helluva good value considering it provides a chronograph as well as a triple calendar and moonphase, but the styling doesn't hold the same appeal to me as the Tank does.
I love the Chronograph Calendar but in that case I would decied the german counterpart:
Limes Pharo Chronograph Vollkalender
Both are using the ETA 7751 (Valjoux). So it has the same functions and complications. The dial is in my opinion better finished in Details and no cuted numbers. The back of the Limes is in my opinion also better finished than his swiss cousin.
Plus: It costs 1K less :-)
So. if your question would be Tank or Limes Pharo, I would go for the Pharo :-)
Two amazing watches but I don't see them as serving the same function. Cartier Tank is a beautiful dress piece but the Longines, not so much dress and much more a sports or GADA watch.

Two great choices but for this type of watches I’d go Cartier tank. If you want a vintage inspired sports watch id go longies it’s what they both do well

I knew I was going to be in the minority here. But the Tank just doesn't do it for me.
I've been considering both of these watches.

In this two option I chose the Tank.

They are so different that it really comes down to which style you prefer.
