Happy Memorial Day, while we remember our fallen heros, let's also remember their watches...

I thought that I would share some of my historical watches that have been mechanically restored and are in top running condition. These are all World War II era A-11 and ORD watches. The bottom two are from the beginning of the war about 1942 to 43. The top two ORDs one of them being Army Air Corp are from 1943 and 1945. The one on the left that is on the NATO strap came with the original strap. I’ve actually put it away into a vacuum bag as it is an amazing piece of history. The owner did indeed come home (and lived to the ripe age of 95) but he came home with the watch on while he was injured. I keep wrestling with whether I want to get rid of what’s left of that strap but it’s the original strap and it actually saw action during Normandy. I present to you these as I don’t take them out too much and I figured that all of you would enjoy these on today this Memorial Day.

Very nice, and thanks for sharing.  The watch on the lower right, thats a Bulova or Hamilton right?  I have a small military collection as well, and I have one similar to that one.

Thanks for sharing the time pieces, and their stories. Truly amazing. If you can, add to your collection the Elgin A-11. Wrist Watch Revival restored one before and it was beautiful.
