NWA: My first G-Shock
I've been toying with the idea of getting a G-shock for a while now but I was always hesitant due to my smaller wrists. I've finally decided to get one and settled on the GW-5000U as my G-shock of choice.
I was browing Yahoo Japan auctions (thru Buyee) last week and I chanced upon a used 5000U listing. It was from a recommended seller, and it looked okay in the pictures so I impulsively bought it.
To be honest, I had mild expectations because it was a second hand product so I thought it might have a lot of scratches, or damaged strap, etc. it was also like a $100 cheaper than a new one so I tempered my expectations.
I was pleasantly surprised when it came with the whole packaging, and there was even a sticker on the back. It looked like new TBH.
After setting it up and wearing it, I now kind of understand why people like these. It's very comfortable, with a great feature-set, and you can find deals online if you look around. Overall, I'm very happy with the purchase and I feel like this thing would get a lot of wrist time from me.

I like the GW-5000. The strap is a bit softer than the cheaper squares. I ended up selling mine but only because I had a lot of similar watches - it's a great choice for a "one g-shock collection"

Thanks! I don't plan on owning a lot, and the price I got it was reasonable so I thought I'd pull the trigger on this one. 😊
