Collection Reduction

After many months of contemplation, i've decided to reduce my watch collection. While I've enjoyed these watches immensely they don't get the wrist time others in the collection do. The Seiko SRPE57, Citizen Eco-Drive, Baltany, and Pagani Design need to go to make room for the next phase of my collecting journey.

I'm shopping for a slightly dressy sports watch. Something I can wear casually and to the office.

Some designs that have been on my wishlist for some time include the Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra 38mm, Tudor Black Bay 54, Seiko SKX013, and the Longines Spirit 37mm.

I would be very interested in any suggestions you might have for similar designs. I would prefer to stay under a $3,000 budget.

Any Crunchers out there have suggestions? Thank you for your input!

Have a GREAT day!

Take a look at the new Longines Conquest - gives me Aqua Tera vibes. I have an SKX013 and while it’s a fine watch it’s not in the same class as those others you mentioned.

I paid £1300 for this quartz a couple of years ago on eBay. Perfect grab'n'go daily & would still leave a decent budget for something else.

Ive got a Green Willard I paid £500 for from the same place.

Buy shrewdly and moving up a tier doesn't have to be painfully expensive. Don't discount quartz, buy used & be patient.

Less is more, marathon not a race ... etc 😉👍🏻👍🏻

This is great advice! Thank you for sharing!

I agree, the end goal for me is that 3 watch collection. As difficult it sounds. This watch collecting is getting out of hand for me. Good luck with your next chapter.

The Spirit 37 is on my short list (keeping my BB58).

How is the the quality of that PAGANI DESIGN you have??

I have always been impressed with the quality of Pagani. The PD1690 is very good. Seiko NH35A movement, sapphire crystal with A/R coating, 200 meters water resistance. No complaints. I think the only reason it doesn't get much wrist time is the size. 39.7mm for my wrist is a little large. Otherwise, it is a great watch!

Do you like the size of the BB58? I was also thinking about the BB54. Thoughts?

Good for you, but I would keep two of those watches ! As for your new buy, you will have great fun looking as at that price the world is your oyster. I wouldnt like to suggest as this post could end up as a record on WC. Can't wait to see what you get !

I do like the size of the BB58, so much that I haven’t bothered to try the BB54. My preferred range is 37-39.

What does the rest of your collection look like?

The BB54/58 and Aqua Terra are nice ones to look at next.

Also Sinn 104s are pretty nice as well if you like more angular designs. Maybe a Halios Fairwind/Universa if you like micros. Outside your budget but the Grand Seiko SBGA443 is a nice sporty dress watch.

Spirit 37 gets my vote 😉

Instead of the SKX013, why not get an updated 4R34 movement with hacking, hand winding and a GMT complication from the new SSK series? They're sporty and can be worn into meetings. They're around $475 MSRP but they can be found as low as $280.

Take a look at the Maen manhatten or monta do some nice watches well within budget. Nomos club sport is another good option.

Longines Spirit 37mm is an upgrade of Hamilton Field Khaki Auto IMO. BB54 is a great tool watch. Both of them are great, can't go wrong with either one.

May I recommend CW C63 Sealander, C65 Dune, or the twelve(36mm). If you want something really special then I recommend Vulcan Cricket 36mm. It is a mechanical alarm watch!

Good luck👍
