Adventure Gone Wrong / Saved by Horology Book
Plan: Don a 40lb weight vest and snowshoe through the snowy forest for a good movement-under-load workout.
Reality: Snowshoes broke as I was donning them.
So I walked without the snowshoes, sometimes past my knees in snow, through the beautiful snowy woods.

Broken snowshoes in really deep snow are no joke. I broke a pair of cheap aluminum ones and had to lash them back together. Couldn't move in chest deep snow without them.
FYI, snowshoes have a weight rating, each are different. Weighted vest great for building strength... but likely pushed right past that shoes rating. Need to buy a different brand or length.
Meanwhile, I only walked on shoveled sidewalks during a light sbow.

I bought mine for mountaineering. They'll easily carry me and 40 pounds. But, they're 22 years old and finally gave up the ghost.

Do people know there are places you can live that don't have snow? 😂 Just joking. I grew up in Nebraska and had my fair share of snow and cold growing up. Since being an adult I have really only lived in places that don't get a lot of snow. At this point now I don't know if I can go back.
