Oooops. I finally did it.

My beloved Citizen Barnacle. Relatively new in my collection. Out of the box it has run reliably at +3 seconds per day and has survived all sorts of abuse without skipping a beat. I really enjoy this little workhorse.

Yesterday I dropped it from shoulder height onto a hard wood floor. The hour hand jumped back an hour. I reset it and all seemed to be in order. But now it seems to be running quite quickly. I fear I knocked it out of regulation and it needs to go in for service.

This is the first time I've dropped one of my watches..... I'm frustrated that I let it happen.

That’s nice!

Bring it to a good watchmaker. These things happen...

·

I feel you 🥺

Give your little workhorse some extra love ❤️

·

I feel you bro. I dropped my watch once and sent it for repair too.

Dropped my Seiko not too long after I got it, I ended up damaging the balance wheel trying to regulate it, and I replaced the movement. I’m sure a local watchmaker has your back!

·

I dropped one watch once, stuck out my foot and let it bounce off my shoe to the ground without a scratch. Did yours slip from your hand, or off a shelf?

I feel your pain, especially because it looks very loved!

It happens! Don’t beat youself up. It’s an automatic, so practically any watchmaker can take care of it. I dropped a Citizen World timer quartz and it had to go to Citizen.

·

All the best to you and the watch.

I had just taken the watch off and was holding it (apparently loosely) in my hand. Someone called my name and when I turned toward him, my elbow hit the back of a tall chair and the watch fell from my grasp.

The moral of the story is: ignore people. Always.
