So...I bought something I probably shouldn't have done *updated*

So, I had a long career in the military before I came a chubby civilian again, so let me get out my 'fuck you' before you judge me, but I bought an unworn MTM Specials Ops Falcon in limited edition 'desert camo'.

The item hasn't arrived yet from the US, so no doubt my communist government will charge me import taxes etc...but the anticipation of this arriving is very exciting to me.

Last time I was in Afghanistan, I was at the souk ('bizarre' / market) and bought thr entire series of 24 on DVD. The Afghan gentleman assured me it was legit...nevertheless, good old Jack BAUER wears an MTM watch in 24 and I've always wanted on since then; so many years later I bought one.

Thoughts? I don't know where the desert camo edition comes from, I'm assured this was done by MTM and it looks like some camo from one of the middle East countries; but I have no information to support that.

Redbull?! We only had cases of Rip It.

Nice watch! 👌

And you don't have to justify any watch you buy to anyone.

I bet there aren't many folks rocking a Speedy who have been to space.

Unless the watch ran over $800, there shouldn’t be any import duties.

·

We used to buy absolutely legit Marlboro cartons and Paco Rabanne after shave from our friendly 9 years old Lebanese neighbor who used to drive around in a dilapidated Toyota pickup with wood blocks fitted to the pedals.

·

Just checked their website some very interesting watches

It’s hard to go wrong with desert camo/coyote tan/call-it-what-you-will. It has become part of our culture since Desert Storm, regardless of how we may individually feel about the legitimacy of that particular military action.

I thought so, but I had to pay £93 import duty on a £500 RZE Ascentus last month (I am now selling it!)

Watches don't get an exemption from VAT, so 20% on watch value, and 20% on the postage costs too. There's no lower value limit so you get charged on everything. But I've had a couple slip through with no charges so you could get lucky. (I think I've got away with about £700 so far).

Sorry....my comment was applicable to the US. Thought you were on this side of the Atlantic.

#citrusxcru for life lolol.

Now if I could just find me some Burn or Pit Bull.....lolol

Completely non watch related, but the only reason I own a copy of NBA Jam 2010 and all of the Fast and the Furious on Blu-ray is due to playing/watching them religiously with my peeps in a dingy TOC (tactical operations center) between missions.

And in other news, didn't the main character from Burn Notice wear one? Even more of a reason why it's cool, anything remotely affiliated with Bruce Campbell is god-tier, just my .02¢...lol

Where do you live? I thought it was the capitalists that charged import duty.
