Witness the thickness - a review of the Black Bay Pro

Ok, let's this out the way first...yes, it's a bit thick and when I say about, I mean maybe by 1mm. However, this is the internet so of course IG fanboys will loose their minds, watch 'influencers' with their bloody clickbait looking for clout will make a big deal of this, and brokies who would have never purchased this watch anyway will claim that they won't buy it based upon this extra 1mm alleged too-thickness...

However, those living in the real world will realise that almost instantly this isn't a big deal at all. It fits under a shirt sleeve and I am glad it has the movement it does, it's a COSC certified movement with a respectable 70hr power reserve.

The watch itself is stunning. Yes, it's somewhat Rolex Explorer homage, but one I won't get stabbed for in London and I won't purchase another Rolex out of principle.

I love a GMT hand (especially a orangie-yellow one) it is a watch complication that is actually useful and, "world ready" according to John MAYER (lad). The Tudor Black Bay Pro is a 39mm, so it is slightly on the small side, but perfect for everyday day wear. I love the raised indices and the lume is really nice.

200m water resistance means you can use it foe stuff too and the watch looks equally good on a metal bracelet or the black canvas strap. I went for the metal bracelet and it comes with a slight taper and the clasp had a micro-adjustment capability for when you are hot on holiday...or you suddenly get chubby.

I also love the singular large-ish crown. I knew I had to have this watch; so I bought it!

  • COSC certified 70hr Power reserve
  • GMT hand
  • 200m WR
  • Micro-adjustible clasp
  • Some cunt is bound to mention the thickness of the watch...
  • I wish it was a 40-41mm
  • I can take-or-leave the faux rivets on the metal bracelet

I have and love this watch as well. The thickness really is a non issue after the first couple of days. And as you mentioned it’s only there to begin with because of how much it’s been talked about.

Enjoy yours!

Loving the Roots Manuva reference!

Funny, reading the spec. and wearing are often very different. To me the spec. Is just a guideline. I bought a BB GMT just before this was released and I wish I would have known. Nice review.

Thicker than the average 'Mrs Brown's Boys' fan.

Hey, I'm a cunt. It's too thick!!! Great watch though.

Love this Tudor release! 🤙

The thickness is really it's only fault. If the thickness was 12.5 or so, these would fly off the shelves. That's why everyone mentions it.

Very cool, the Black Bay Pro is on my wish list.

I have a 79230R, the thickness doesn't bother me, it's also without a doubt my favorite, it gets the most wrist time.

I love the Black Bay, in all of its various forms!
