So… I bought my daughter her first Casio

The 7th installment of So… I bought…

This time round, I finally got my daughter her first watch. She has never worn a watch and she always checks her time on her phone. The reason for that is she has very sensitive skin. It will break out into rashes if she puts something on it for too long.

Long story short, one day while visiting me, we started talking about watches out of the blue and I showed her my Casio Royal AE-1200. She tried it on and she liked it. So, I got online and bought it immediately.

Arrived a couple of days later and me being me, can’t resist taking a few photos. LOL. Passed it to her and she love it.

Here’s us twinning.

I told her to monitor her skin and see if there’s any rashes and so far so good. 👌

Hope it works out for her. 👍 Just curious, does she tend to have issues with certain materials or metals?

It’s very difficult to say cause she’s fine sometimes and sometimes not. It is quite frustrating. She can have a reaction just by having her hair tie on her wrist.

I heard titanium is suitable for folks that have skin allergies.

Titanium is what I was thinking, also. Could be worth a try, but it sounds like the Royale is working out for her, so that's good. 👍

Just got an update from her. She has a slight itch but nothing serious. So, it’s sort of working out (fingers crossed). I told her that her skin has an expensive taste in metal. Hahaha.

I’m searching Titanium watches and came cross the new Timex Expedition North Titanium. Looks quite good.

Great to see that your daughter has joined in on this 🤣!!

I have pretty sensitive skin too, but it doesn't always flare up. Depends a lot on the environment (e.g. hot/humid) as well. I used to have a steinhart titanium that occasionally triggers my skin to itch.. tho that could also be attributed to sweat or the bracelet being a little sharp?

I’m glad she wanna wear a watch to begin with. LOL

Yeah, we’re living in a hot and humid country so sweating is common. But her skin has reactions ever if she doesn’t sweat, so i don’t know about that.

I‘m curious to know if all titanium are create equal. I know there are different grades.

Sounds like your daughter has really sensitive skin. Does she exercise a lot? If so, is she the type to find a bath asap and lotion'd herself to a fare thee well?

Sounds like her body is extra sensitive to allergens to the point it's starting to flare up whenever things get introduced to her skin or something.

Shrugs Any doctors here? Maybe they'll know what to do.

Nah, she doesn’t exercise at all. LOL. I’m trying to make move her a** and workout with me.

We’re trying to experiment with different watches (good excuse to get more watches). LOL.

Might need to move her to titanium.

Best watch ever. Hope that it will work out for your daughter!

Great to see this 👌😉

If she reacts to it, consider titanium as mentioned already here. Citizen has a great line for ladies, not too formal, not too toolish, just 👌

Something on these lines:

cheers and enjoy this interest together 😉

Thanx for the recommendation man. Unfortunately, she does have a type. Hahahaha. Something along the AE-1200. Something retro. She likes the watch worn by Ripley and so do I. Lol.

Then I can only commend her exquisite taste, we speak the same language 😉

She’s still very new to watches. Maybe her taste will at a later stage but for now we both like the same stuff. She’s a graphic designer like myself and she’s really into square face watch.

·

Awesome. If you go Titanium, make sure the caseback is Titanium as well. The Nickel in SS is likely the irritant.

·

Any recommendation for titanium watches that are around $300 price point?

UPDATE:

After a few weeks of wearing the watch, I can report that she did not get any reactions on her wrist! WOOHOO!! Everything is good and I bought her another 2 watches.

Stay tuned for a new story.
