Orient Bambino 38mm

I recently got my son an Orient Bambino 38mm for Christmas. It's his first mechanical watch. The rest of his watches are GShocks so I'm thinking it's time for him to get a "big boy" watch.

The reason why I got this is because he's still studying and has to do presentations in suits and he's lacking a good dress watch. Told him he can dress up or down depending on the occasion.

I love this version of the Bambino and would get one for myself soon. 🤤

You can consider this version if you want a even more vintage feel :)

Hey. Really nice watch and thanx for the recommendation. Personally, I still prefer the 38mm version as I feel it fits me better and I don’t really like Roman numerals on the dial. Just my preference. :)

Is yours 40 or 41mm?

40.5mm :)

Nice

Great choice 👌

That is indeed a great choice for a first auto, more so if it fills the gap in his watch requirements!

I just ordered (another 🙄) 38mm Bambino.

I have the same version you have pictured above (which I put on a different strap).

And just ordered the beige/cream/champagne version (which I expect will arrive by the end of the week.)

If you are considering one for yourself, I picked this one up at the winter sale at Jomashop. I also ordered a different strap for this one as well.

Thanx. Yeah. This is his first auto. Let him play around with it and get use to winding and setting the time and date

Good choice on the beige version. This is the one I’m considering as well.

The one on sale at Jomashop is the lowest price I’ve seen this particular model for quite some time. Along with another $10 discount it comes in just a hair under $200 excluding tax. Not bad at all.

It’s in USD am I correct? I got it for S$208 including tax and all in a shopping app in Singapore. So maybe I’ll wait till there’s sale again to get it. No hurry at the moment. Lol

The reason is I just bought another G-Shock. Hahahaha

Back in the '70s nearly all adult watches looked like the Bambino. I have an Aussie friend who bought one about a year ago after we both spent months trying to find something for him which looked like an old Sekonda but made modern.

wow, that pic made it look like a dinner plate on your wrist 😂

jokes aside, its a beautifull watch, they've really nailed it on the 38mm case size now for smaller wrists
