I like the size and movement much better in the Spinnaker.
I have this thing about white dials. White dials are classier. White dials are easier to read. I'd go with Spinnaker. My opinion only. YMMV. 😎
60/40 odds against Seiko quality control, Can't miss with the Islander colab
I LOVE orange watch faces... a lot. BUT I really enjoy Islander... and a collab like that? I'd have to go with the collab and get an orange dial, later. In fact, the new Islander Northport in Fireball orange is flirting with me... but my watch budget for the quarter has been blown on a Presidents day acquisition.

Yeah, i think imma go for the collab. I buy most my Seikos from Mimo’s Jewelry out in Cali because of the discount and I can get a video of the watch I want to buy and they don’t have one with good alignment which will bother the crap out of me. Thanks to everyone who voted and shared your opinion😁😁
Most of the QC issues of seiko that I hear are regarding the mal-aligned 120 click uni-directional bezel of divers, or of the wiggle movement of the inner rotating bezel on Alpinists. The SSK GMT has neither of these common issues due to the classy and smooth bi-directional 24hr bezel.
I went for the SSK005K1 (orange) and to be honest the dial is utterly brilliant. The colours just pop and online pictures do not do the dial any justice compared to seeing it in the flesh 😍.
If you don't already have an Orange dial watch in your collection I'd 100% say go for the Seiko...I did and haven't regretted it for a moment.
Also, the jubilee bracelet is a thing of beauty 😘.

I’ll get it at some point but the chapter ring on the one I was looking at was to far out of alignment for me to pull the trigger😅
Thanks to everyone who voted! Ended up going with the Islander/Spinnaker Croft collab. In person the dial is a perfect white sand color and the bezel action is soooo snappy and satisfying.
Voted too late it seems but I think in this case going on general appearance alone it was down to whether or not you wanted a pop of colour in your lineup! Great choice though 👍
