Buyer Beware: Day One Hiccup with the Hydroconquest GMT

My dad finally bought his watch! Ironically, it was the least voted according to the poll I put up not too long ago, but he wanted a True GMT with solid water resistance that had crown guards, and the Hydroconquest GMT ticked all the boxes.

He got the black one with the rubber strap, along with the Otis Hope Carey NATO. So far, so good.

However, as soon as we got home, we encountered a major problem.

The inside of the rubber strap had been split! From the outside it was fine, but this clearly shouldn’t have been the case when it was sold. So we contacted the salesperson and I wil come back in tomorrow to see what happens next.

Has this sort of thing ever happened to you? What did you do about it, and what was the final outcome? Let me know 😁

I’m not too worried about what they will say next - I’m sure they’ll help me out! I go into the boutique almost every other day.

Oof. The strap must have cracked between getting off the line and being put on the watch. Bad luck, that. That said, good reponse on the boutique's part.

Whoa I’ve never seen something like that on a rubber strap. Good to see they’re moving quickly on it.

That's the third longines qc issue this week on here

Thankfully an easy fix and no real concern. I'm sure it'll be right as rain in no time. An opportunity for additional strap shopping too. 👍

Beautiful watch!
