When to wear rubber?

We have all seen rubber straps on dive watches before, but I’m noticing something different!

More and more watch brands are releasing some of their existing watches that used to come only on a bracelet, but now offer it on a rubber strap, and some have newly designed pieces launched at grabbing our attention.$$$$

The watch on a rubber strap to me was mostly reserved for the dive watch, but now they have versatile use. So they can be worn from anywhere near water and up to the sky. e.g. yacht club, swimming pool, resort life style, or on land such as race track, or basic everyday use, golfing in the hot desert, travel…etc.

•Does anyone know what I’m on about here?

•Is this a trend or here to stay?

•Should we be looking to add a watch of this type in our collection?

•Should we just buy a strap and convert our current watch?

•Can it be worn in other scenarios other than my aforementioned and still be socially acceptable. Like wearing and Aquanaut at a black tie event, instead of a dress watch.

We can agree dress code rules have changed, so can we wear a rubber strap anywhere and everywhere all the friggin time?
