New Watch Alert

Hello everyone, this is my new

DAILYDIVER.

I’m not comfortable wearing my other watches during the week for work, as I consider them luxury watches.

So I went hunting online but had some guide lines to follow when adding this new piece.

• Sub $1000 Canadian

• Diver

• Rubber strap

• Microbrand

Settled with this model as I’m persuaded by its handsome looks. It also was the only one that was not taking a majority of its stylistic cues from a major brand nor was I looking for a homage piece.

I feel I can where this all the time, without any worries. Although when I open the box and tried it on, it does feel premium. I’m impressed!

The thing I like most about it is the full brushed design.

It’s well built and comfortable.

So what do you think?

Loos good and should go with anything. I do not know much about the brand.

Baltic is pretty nice

·

Very beautiful watch. I love Baltic style

·

Great Watch! Question: how were custom fees and shipping? Asking as a fellow Canuck whose maple syrup dollars get quickly depleted when all the fees are added importing watches from the US (have not tried Europe yet, hence the question… Baltic and Yema are of interest to me).

Excellent choice sir!!

Good question,

$127.98 on $871.75cad (580 euro)

I love that liquid gold!🍯

Here a link to a calculator you can use to know what import duties can cost. https://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/travel-voyage/dte-acl/est-cal-eng.html

Thanks! Is it me or it can be aleatory whether CBSA applies duty fees or not? My first Islander was duty free while my second required a trip to a Canada Post office to pay the taxes 🤷‍♂️

·

I think you scored a beautiful Baltic!! ❤️🤙🎯

You must have gotten lucky… I’ve always had to pay. 😉

I hate to be the “well actually” guy, but the Baltic Aquascaphe is an homage to the Blancpain Bathyscaphe. It’s a great watch. I have the deep blue one!

Hi there,

I’m gonna say you’re probably right, but I have not seen it. I’ve done a quick search and not found anything like it on Blancpain website. Went on Chrono24 trying to find that maybe you meant previous models of Bathyscape and I can’t find anything close.

Case side profile and lugs are different and so is the bezel font and coin profile, oh and hour&minute marker’s totally different.

Lot of beautiful pieces on that wed site though.

Send me a pic of the model you’re thinking of as I’m super curious now.

Thx,

Ray

Oh yes that is 100 % look alike, thanks for finding it hopefully you didn’t have to dig to hard for this one.

That’s super old one , wonder what year.

Thanks again…

I hope you’re not disappointed. I know “homage” can be a dirty word, but I feel like resurrecting a long forgotten design is different than photocopying a Rolex Submariner.

The Baltic is such a nice watch. I bet that black and white one is a strap monster. The only thing I don’t like about the blue model is that the fauxtina clashes with white stitching on some leather straps.

·

No no no not at all, it’s like you said “long forgotten”. Not many will associate it to that older Blancpain.

Besides the homage word is growing on me as many brands are taking styling cue from icons it’s become more acceptable especially in this WC family of collectors!

By the way your blue version was my second choice but I didn’t want to have too many blue dials in my stable. Looks stunning
