My First Mod - Seiko SPB185J1

I like the SPB185J1 a lot. Enough so that I've bought it twice. Long story, I bought it, traded it for a watch I thought I wanted more, and then traded that watch for another I thought I wanted more. I was right about the third watch, but missed that 185 so I bought another. As much as I liked it, and then liked it again, something about it just didn't sit right. I've owned silver bezel dive watches before but they have all been short term members of my collection and I figure this might be the one thing that wasn't sitting right with me on the 185.

So AliExpress sold me a ceramic bezel with a perfectly matching lume pip and I put it on the 185 and it hasn't left my wrist for 3 days. I put a rubber strap on it too. It's a bit top heavy but I like that it's less jangly and the strap holes are placed such that it fits perfectly so another win.

This mod was really easy to do. I bought enough adhesive tapes to restore it on a whim and I'm sure it will bounce back and forth between the black and silver a couple of times, but not any time soon.

Did you remove the bezel on the SPB185 to swap the inserts? I am thinking about doing the same and am weary to scratch up the case!

It's so easy. You don't have to remove the bezel.
