Thinking of selling. Should I?

I’m thinking of selling a few pieces to fund a new purchase. I also should trim the collection a bit as it’s getting bigger than I “need” 🤣

What should I sell? And what should I keep? Most of these aren’t commonly available, so if I sold, it wouldn’t be the easiest to buy it again if I wanted it back. This is mostly just for fun and conversation, so all opinions are welcome!

For reference

1- Seiko Chrono 7A28-7010

2- Baltic Pulso Bicompax

3- Seiko Alpinist Ginza SPB259

4- Furlan Marri Sector dial

Keep the Seiko vintage chronograph, and the Alpinist Ginza.

·

Seiko chrono, as personally, the dial does nothing for me. Wheras the Alpinist is beautiful. The Baltic is OK. The Furlan? Not sure about that one. Hmm, Mr. Indecisive here, has changed his mind already. Ditch the Furlan 😊

·

I like them all. Keep them 👍

·

I would sell the Seiko Chronograph, simply because I don't like pushers and crowns on the "wrong side" of the watch!

·

You should sell /ME/ the Alpinist haha. My tax refund will be here any day now!

What if you could only keep one?

Fair point but I don’t feel it looks unbalanced as they’re on both sides and all 4 corners.

Keep the Seikos, sell the others.

The Ginza Alpinist was a limited release and an extremely sought after one besides the fact that it is a simply stunning watch while. You can probably make a good premium on it in the future and enjoy it in fhe meantime.

I don’t see the need of keeping a Furlan Marri while having a proper vintage quartz chrono with the Seiko already. And the Baltic is a gorgeous piece, you can probably sell it without incurring on a loss in today’s market for Baltic, I would say.

Haha I’ve never actually worn it. I sized it but only tried it on. It is a really stunning dial tho. Too many watches, so few wrists!

Wish I could but I want to consolidate and I’m looking for an every day dive watch to use for work. My current daily drivers are a Gshock square and an IWC mark XV.

I completely disagree on the ginza

Sell everything but the Seiko chrono

The Chrono is vintage, and best looking of the 4.

The ginza alpinist is hype right now so milk the hype and sell it while it's still desirable. In 5,10,20 years nobody will remember (yet another) limited edition Seiko and there won't be nearly as much as a premium on the secondary market to milk.

The Baltic and the Furlan marri are nothing special. If you miss them in 6 months after selling them you can always buy some vintage piece for a few hundred bucks that scratches the exact same itch.

I agree, it's purely my personal preference.

·

I would sell the Furlan Marri🤔

Well, keep me in mind 😉 if you do decide to sell maybe we could work something out

·

Keep the Seiko's, especially the Alpinist & sell the others. The micros do nothing for me at all.

·

Would definitely sell the Seiko Chrono, not a big fan of white dials in general. Second to go would probably be the Furlan, the dial is somehow not for me.

·

keep the baltic bicompax and the furlan marri i guess

·

You have the Ginza?

How ridiculous...

Such a waste of space and money...

Get lost of it...

...

...

...

As a good friend and fellow I would love do you a favor and buy it from you.

Make sure to keep that Alpinist. Its beautiful.

·

If you have to ask….

·

Sell Furlan Marri Sector dial and Seiko Chrono 7A28-7010. YMMV

·
CliveBarker1967

What if you sold them and they then be become extremely valuable?

Unfortunately this is the game we play haha

That Seiko Ginza looks lovely but just checked the official specs which say it can run up to +25 seconds a day! Sell it if it’s doing that!

I’ve never actually worn the Ginza yet, so I haven’t tested it’s performance. Isn’t that the provided specs of most Seiko watches tho? Either way I’m not a stickler for accuracy. I have my radio controlled gshock for that if I need it 👍

Is this a main stream brand vs micro brand kinda feeling? Or the specific watches don’t do it for you? Micros don’t bother me. Some microbrands do amazing things.

Bit of both TBH. Dislike Baltic, Chinese movement in fancy dress & too hyped . The Seiko's will maintain their appeal and value longer, be far easier to maintain/service and the Ginza is a bit of a mini grail for many of us so I think you'd be mad to let it go as you'd regret it later.

These are miniscule differences , they're al 4l lovely watches & it's only us WIS that get in a faff about such small things 🤣👍🏻👍🏻

What do you think is a fair price for the Ginza at the moment? It’s unworn.

No clue. List it on eBay second price auction and let the invisible hand of the free market dictate the price

·

It doesn’t sound like you’re particularly attached to any of these. To me, the bunch by far is the Alpinist. So if you don’t love that one I guess I’d sell all four.

I have a couple sentimental pieces, but none of these are those. If I was leaning toward keeping one, at this point it would probably be the Seiko vintage chrono. It just fits so well and I don’t really have anything else like it.
