Looking for a Tudor Pelagos 42 but smaller!

Yes I know, they make a 39mm Pelagos, but I went to go see it today and was pretty disappointed. The 42mm has a beautiful matte tool watch look and finish to it, where as the 39 now has a slight sunburst effect and it just doesn’t look the same. Unfortunately the 42 is too big for me.

Anyone know of any other matte/brushed dive watches out there? Or should I hold out hope that they re-do the 39 in all full matte glory in the future?

or take it to a watchmaker to swap out the dial. I'm also not a fan of star burst effect

I’m with you. I like the matte finish more as well

I agree the matte looks better than the sunburst. Watches & Wonders isn’t too far off. Maybe we’ll see a new 39mm offered in matte? Who knows. I’m hoping to see a 39mm FXD release.

Here's my fxd on my 6.5 wrist. Love the titanium, very light.

Yeah it’s really hard to tell online in pictures but seeing both side by side today in person, you can see a huge difference and the original 42mm just looks to be in a class above the 39. I was so ready to pull the trigger today too.

It’s a beautiful watch and I’m not gonna say it’s too big for you or anyone else. But for me and my personal taste, it’s bigger than I’d like for my 6.3-6.4” wrist. It’s a thick watch too at 14.5mm

You could look at Helm watches or Jody from JOMW has just released the Erebus. Failing that there are many homage watches on AliExpress. I particularly like the bronze with green gradient dial

Funny you mention Helm and Erebus as I was just checking those watches out on YT. Helm appears to be similar to the Pelagos 42 at 42mm and 14mm thick.

Erebus is only slightly smaller at 41x12.7mm. I’ll have to do a little more research on the fit of the Erebus watches.

There are definitely ones on AliExpress that are 39mm

I’ve seen this. Cool looking watch. Very modern looking. I’d love to see one in person.

Thanks for the suggestion. Is it matte? Hard to tell.

You’re right actually. Looks like San Martin made the 39 pelagos that Tudor should’ve made. Might have to buy one to scratch my itch until Tudor steps up.
