Whiskey & Cookie

In March of 2020 the film industry shut down and in the face of the unknown I sold my two tone Sub to keep some extra cash on hand. While I was fortunate to come out of that period fine, I’ve always missed that watch. Tonight I’m celebrating a new (sweeter?)chapter with Washington’s own Westland Whiskey, a beautiful woman by my side, and a new sub. Hoping to hold on to this one for longer than the last. Also, this whiskey is strong 😂

Very nice. You hoping to hold on to the watch or the woman longer than the last, or both?

Both :)

Congratulations! Savor the watch and cheers to your resilience! I too have been through tough times when I had to sell a couple cherished time pieces. I also worked my way back, only to find life sweeter yet in the end and myself stronger for the struggle.

As someone that works in the same industry March 2020 was an unsettling time for all of us. Bizarrely, the time that I had not working was a blessing for my body which was flagging due to the demands of the 60 hour week & too little holidays.

Ironically, it was a time where my watch collection started to grow! Whilst you made a very sensible decision over your Rolex, you must have been devastated to sell. Wonderful that you were able to replace the watch now, I hope you have years of enjoyment ahead with it :)

Congrats to your new Sub 💪🤩 And enjoy your Drink 🥃. Old Fashioned I think!?

·

That’s a big hitter, congrats 🥂🍾

Discovering and realizing the resilience with yourself, while scary, is also an amazing metamorphosis. Enjoy the woman, watch, and whiskey in good health.

About 15 years ago I was in a different but similar situation, in that I needed to take significant time off work due to circumstances beyond my control.

And it's all cherished memories now - a few years with my (then) young kids when I otherwise would've been working too hard.

You get by and are better for it, sounds a bit twee - but true.

Thank you! I agree - it’s the tough times that mold us into who we are today 💪

The worst part was watching the values go up weeks/months after I sold 😂

I feel for ya, that would have been sickening. Still, nobody could have predicted with any great authority that what happened, happened. A quirk of circumstances.

A daddy sub, not just any sub.
