Spending Other People's Money is Fun

I got to help a friend go watch shopping yesterday. He's been looking to add some nicer pieces to his collection, and he's been learning about watches along with me.

We looked at a bunch, and he narrowed it down to the white dial 42mm Omega Seamaster Diver 300 and the 42mm Tudor Pelagos in blue. Both looked great on his 6.25" wrist, and he picked the Tudor.

The Government does it best!! Spend other peoples Money!! LOL Nice choices ...

Was it the helium escape valve that led to Omega's downfall? =)

I am an Omega fanboy (would be more with more money), but I genuinely enjoy wearing a titanium watch and feeling how light it is. Either way, great job helping your friend choose a great watch.

Was it because the matching color shirt? Haha nice watch!

The Omega’s escape valve did factor into the decision. He didn’t like it sticking out so far. He also tried on the blue Seamasters.

I’m wearing my blue Pelagos today. I do like the Omega as well and might add it to the collection one day.

·

I also tried on the black Pelagos. Pretty darn nice...

I’ve never been a fan of the Seamaster. Too much in your face with the looks, polishing, glossy dial and bezel and the helium escape valve is the final nail in the coffin. The Pelagos though is perfect for him! You gotta go blue with the Pelagos!

Interesting your friend's wrist doesn't look 6.25".

What's your wrist size?

I’m a 7.75” wrist. So 42mm is about the smallest I would go on a dive watch.
