Hello everyone! Hope you are all having a great day!
I recently purchased this 1963 Hamilton Accumatic A-502 and brought it in for servicing. I got a strap for it, but it is too small for my wrist and iโm not sure if I like the design of strap. I was wondering if any of you would know the best type of strap and what design/colour would fit best?

Brown leather strap? An old watch always looks great on leather

Thatโs what I was thinking! Canโt go wrong with a good old leather strap. Just wasnโt sure if I should go with brown or a darker colour?
Thinking that looks pretty damn fab how it is already. Options will vary.
I think leather too, but recently got this one, not bigging up this particular brand, others available, but might give it a contemporary look. Also worth remembering looking through WRUW you see many a watch/strap combo that should not work, but do.
The neutral dial color allows for a lot of options, so you can match any color and dress it up or down. If you want to be period specific, go with leather (cow or croc/gator), black, red, or brown in color. This is probably not suitable for NATO or rubber/resin as the watch is not "toolie".
I love the look of this strap from @twostitchstraps

Thank you, this will help a lot in the search! I tried looking up pictures of this watch and others from the 50s-60s to see what straps were paired with the watches and there seem to be a lot on croc/gator straps!!

Thatโs a beautiful watch and strap! Iโll check those out. Thank you!
Tan/caramel brown is always a great look with a light dial. But you could mix it up and go with pretty much anything given the aesthetic of this watch! My personal favorite is a burgundy leather strap with white or cream dials. Maybe in an alligator grain since the rest of the watch is quite simpleโit would complement it well!
I just bought this one to temporarily replace leather for summer. I think it might look great on your Hamilton. Here's a pic with my Marloe Pacific 52. Fairly similar dial/color scheme. Very comfortable. Actually came from a WC recommendation!

I think any leather strap would compliment that gorgeous Hamilton - congrats! ๐ฏ๐ค

Agree burgundy would also look good

Thank you! Great suggestions. I hadnโt thought about a burgundy dial but iโm definitely seeing the potential in that now, especially with the alligator grain!
