Tudor Pelagos 42 vs Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean

I everyone, just wondering what is your opinion on what deep diver you would choose. The Tudor is a far more affordable than the Omega, it has an arguably better bracelet and has a longer power reserve. However, the design of the Omega is more versatile, it is METAS certified, has an extra 100m of water resitance and the titanium variation is made out of grade 5 titanium, compared with the Tudor's grade 2 titanium.

I owned the 42mm Black Pelagos, and currently have the Pelagos 39mm, I love the Pelagos line. I did own a Omega SM, 2249-50, Mil sub...I owned it for literally a month. I didn't like the thinness of the Omega it felt like a dress watch. I like my divers to feel like divers. I would say try them both on if you can!

I have some version of both (#tudor BB Pro and #omega Planet Ocean GMT) and can’t go wrong with either. Planet ocean is shiny and more casual and my go to watch.. with regards to water.. I have only wore them in rains and during washing hands.. don’t feel like wearing them will swimming.

I preferred, and own, the Omega. Both are highly competent divers. The bracelets and clasps on both are excellent. The Pelagos reads more toolish; the PO more dressy. You truly can’t go wrong with either one.

For me the decision came down to the following: The movement on the Omega is a substantial step up. The applied dial elements are gorgeous and stand tall. The He valve, which many hate, doesn’t bother me. On the Tudor, not a fan of the snowflake hands, I couldn’t get past how slab sided the Pelagos is, too much text on the dial, and no applied logo.

Planet Ocean, by a mile. Despite it being large, it hugs the wrist pretty good. The movement is a banger and you can actually see it.

Omega all day long....

Planet Ocean, easily.

Pelagos is a nice watch, but it's no Omega.

If you’re talking about the titanium grey variant of the planet ocean then I would go with that. In my opinion it’s the best looking planet ocean because it’s less blingy and more of a proper dive watch.

That said… the thing that stops me from buying it is for the price of the titanium planet ocean you could buy the pelagos and a steel planet ocean because omega pricing on titanium variants is ridiculous
