Where Swatch excels is design. The wide variety of color variations and designs makes them endlessly stylish and this model is no exception. The blue strap and clear case go very nicely together and the contrast between the dial and the redish orange hands underneath faintly purple translucent domed crystal really pops.

The battery is probably the easiest too change out of any watch I own. It has a small battery cover that can be easily be removed with a coin or something similar in size. And at about $70 it’s not a bad piece.

Unfortunately, that’s basically where the positives end. It has a sealed case which makes it highly impractical if not impossible and at the price point it is probably cheaper to get a new one instead. It being made of mostly plastic makes if feel like a bit of a toy and makes it very susceptible to damage. In fact I already noticed a scratch on the crystal after some wear. I don’t even remember bumping it so it must have been pretty lightly grazed because I tend to be hyper aware of things like that. I honestly believe the “Swiss made” tax defiantly applies to this watch because it kinda feels like the same quality as a SpongeBob watch you’d win at an arcade.

Image

It has a very specific way of connecting the strap which means most aftermarket straps are virtually incompatible unless it’s specifically made for a swatch.

Overall, while I do not think it is the highest quality or something that will last me a lifetime, it is a fun accessory for however long it will last me. Can only recommend this if you’re looking for something cheap, colorful, and fun and you don’t mind that it won’t last you for years down the road.

Swatches get noticed by regular people. Conversely my forum posts about Swatches always seem to get a few less clicks than other brands do. It's a tradeoff that encourages me to go outside more 😩

The Swatch design team are no slouches... hence the market for weird all-metal homages of Swatch designs. (But then you don't get to enjoy the Brand Heritage and Original DNA!)

Unfortunately, yes, the crystals will last about a day in the wild before taking permanent damage.

Really cool looking piece, I get that we would want our watches to be a bit more durable but Swatch always says their stuff is supposed to be disposable so i cant really knock em down that bad

Almost every time I wear a Swatch out, someone compliments it. That doesn't happen with any other watch I own. They definitely know how to make a design that turns heads.

Right on the money. Watch people care so little about them but it’s one of the few I’ve actually gotten a compliment on.

I wish they were a tad cheaper if they’re meant to be disposable
