Mark XX is a pretty watch too. Enjoy it. Yeah the Augsburg and Aachen are good value and I have the Aachen. The finishing on the Kiel, arguably Laco’s higher tier watch is significantly better (which is expected) given it is 5-6x more expensive than the Basic line.
Blue and green are stunning but picking which one to wear is difficult. Keep the smp that is developing a patina as a beater. I would keep the smp blue, gold and black and sell the modern smp either green or blue. They will have better resale vs gold or the vintage one. My two cents. Or just keep them all if you cannot let either go
Great pick. My 2531.80 omega smp was my first watch upon starting my first job 12 years ago. The watch has since left my collection but brought me 4 years of joy owning it. Wear it in good health and success. Happy Birthday
I know the challenge. It is hard indeed. I had the seamaster professional bond 2531.80 for 4 years and sold it a year after getting myself a 8500 PO. Just could not justify having the same type of diver watch in my collection. Ever since, I have a diver, gmt, one pilot B dial, one pilot chronograph, one worldtimer dress watch and an apple watch. A more diversified portfolio that allows me to choose what to wear more easily since they are all Different.
Now I am in love with German pilot watches. Yes definitely try different brands.
Yeah it is a essentially a Valjoux 7750 but made by Selitta after the patent ended. Reputable swiss movement maker as well with movements found in many mid range or lower priced brands. Even high priced brands like IWC before they went in-house
chrononerd hasn't earned any badges, yet.
